My bride Abigail thought of absolutely everything for her wedding day, even flying down with the pink parasols that really made the photos so much fun! The energetic California couple, Abigail and Adrian were a joy to photograph and were surrounded by lots of loving family and friends. After an emotional sunset wedding, the entourage danced on the beach to their own steel band. Lake Harriet Rose Garden, Minneapolis, James J. Hill Library, St. Paul

Two of the most interesting locations in the Twin Cities. Casey and Dustin held the ceremony in the Rose Garden at its blooming peak in early August on a gorgeous summer day. This wedding pair was so animated and we had a ball with the photography. The reception was held in the historical James J. Hill Library in St. Paul. Old wood and marble, stacks of ancient books surrounded the dining tables and it all could not have been more elegant.

Basilica of St. Mary, Nicollet Island, Minneapolis

Gorgeous fall weather, dazzling bride and groom, grand event! The historical cathedral in downtown Minneapolis is such a magnificent setting, and the architecture is so dramatic. Jenny and Michael repeated their vows beneath the marble arches and exquisite detail of the impressive sanctuary. Nova Scotia visits Jamaica. Krista and Brett and all their friends and family showed the Riu that they really know how to party. Such a great group of warm and friendly people that were so much fun, and they insisted that we stay over just to join the fiesta.

Double Trouble

Without a whimper this set of twins were pushed, pulled and prodded through a photo shoot. The most identical twins I ever photographed. Mom, Jennifer, was so calm, laid back, and so amazing! Her brother Jamie, was a huge help on the set, and no wonder, he is ‘The Baby Guy’ that you may have seen giving baby tips on TV. He really knows his baby stuff! Check him out on www.thebabyguy.com.

Sweet family, Minneapolis

Shannon is one of the great professional make-up artists that I have had the great fortune to work with on many of my fashion shoots. I have been thinking about photographing a studio family portrait ever since her family started growing, and to think I knew her when she backpacked as a free spirit around the globe. Her little family came to my studio last week and I was in love the minute they all came through the door. The sweetness of each child just radiates, and they get along so beautifully!

I look forward to shooting another family portrait for them in my candid style next summer. We’ll choose a favorite family location, and I know there will be tons of photo gems to play with. Stay tuned and thank you Shannon!

Amazing Twin Cities Family

What a thrill to be invited to photograph a Minneapolis family, both parents sing in the Sounds of Blackness. Wow, what an inspiration as they all broke out in song. I love my clients. Easy to photograph such beautiful people.

Last year when I photographed the entire family, Ben just couldn’t be contained on a roll of seamless or in my studio. So we tried an outdoor portrait and the bigger world proved to be a good match for this very busy two year old. What a darling boy and the perfect location for a windy fall day.

Six days old, never too early for photos

I couldn’t believe it myself…. six days old and already smiling for her adoring parents. No gimmicks like baskets and bowls, just the simplicity of human interaction. I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of her Mom and Dad years ago and my work never is more meaningful!
